Vet-to-Vet Program & Education Series

Through our compassionate Education Series, our team alleviates the fear and uncertainty that sometimes surrounds end-of-life care. Our presentations offer a compassionate, accepting space for you to learn about illness, dying and grief. Together, we focus on end-of-life opportunities, creating a place for meaningful discussion, learning and sharing.

Our presentations encompass the hospice experience and can be tailored to any audience’s needs and concerns. Topics include:

About our ceremonies or Vet-to-Vet Program

The National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization, in We serve our veterans in both our in-home program and Inpatient Center. All veterans receiving services can be recognized by our trained staff and volunteers:

Veteran Pinning Ceremony – presents each veteran with an honorary certificate, flag pin, WHV pin and lap quilt made specifically for their branch of service.

Vet-to-Vet Program pairs veteran volunteers with our veteran hospice patients. Their mutual service backgrounds create a supportive bond.

We support our veteran patients at military-related community functions, giving them the opportunity to share their stories with a wider audience.

“I don’t have words to describe it. My husband had become so weak but was still able to return the salute of the veteran volunteer. I know in my heart it meant everything to him. What an honor to send him off like that. He was a Marine until the very end.”

Cindy Friedl, Wife of the late John A. Friedl, United States Marine Corps
